Bangladeshi technology company Walton announced that the company is ready to export its smartphones to the US. Walton Managing Director SM Manjurul Alam says, “The dream of exporting smartphones for Made in Bangladesh tag is being fulfilled”.
The quality of locally made smartphones with modern features has attracted the attention of buyers, he added. The first batch of smartphones, priced between $ 100 and $ 200, will be exported on March 1, 2020 from Ghazipur to Walton Digi Tech Industries plant.
Walton’s Managing Director says US importers signed the agreement a few months ago and we are improving the standard before exporting. He added that after the US, we are planning to export smartphones to Europe, Australia and other developed countries as well.
It may be recalled that the Walton company was based in Bangladesh in October 2017. Last year, the company sold 12.2 million smartphones and 41.7 million ordinary phones.
The Walton company not only manufactures smartphones but also manufactures other mobile phone devices – chargers, batteries, earphones and more.
