U.S. Private Rocket Company Failed to Launch and Lost 7 Satellites

China News Service, July 5th. According to the Russian Satellite Network, the US private rocket company “Rocket Lab” said on the 4th that the company’s “Electron” rocket carried 7 satellites. The launch of the New Zealand space launch site failed.

The company tweeted: “There was a problem during the launch of the Rocket Lab today, which resulted in the loss of the rocket. We apologize to customers of the’Electronic’ rocket (carrying its satellite)…”

It is also reported that the rocket successfully took off from the main launch base on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand at 5:19 PM Eastern Time on the 4th. In the first critical few minutes, the launch was proceeding smoothly.

However, about 6 minutes after the launch, the rocket can be seen paused from the live footage. Subsequently, the rocket began to lose speed and eventually fell. “Rocket Lab” finally cut off the live broadcast.

A total of 13 rockets have been launched since 2017, of which two have failed.
