In 2019, Samsung occupies 14.1% of the global mobile application processor market, ranking third, and Apple ranks fourth with 13.1% market share. Qualcomm and MediaTek are still leaders in the field of smartphone processors, with market shares of 33.4% and 24.6%, respectively. Huawei ranked fifth with its Kirin chip.

Samsung’s growth has benefited from the large number of smartphones released last year. Galaxy M and A series of phones are very cost-effective, with millions sold in Asia and Europe. At the same time, the Galaxy S10 series and Note 10 also had a considerable impact.

Samsung ’s recently released smartphones Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra all use System LSI ’s latest high-end chipset Exynos990. Although Samsung also has smartphones with Snapdragon 865 chips, they are only sold in China, South Korea, and the United States. 

Among the top five smartphone system-on-chip (SoC) brands, only Samsung and Huawei show signs of growth. The Korean company’s System LSI business produces Exynos-branded smartphone processing chipsets for use in Samsung, Meizu, and Vivo smartphones.
