Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: In the Pakistan and Indian market, there is a lot of change in the affordable price smartphone segment in today’s time. Samsung has been taking every possible step to further strengthen its position in the midst of this price segment with anti-Chinese protests and online exclusive sales following the GST and dollar price increases in recent times.
Samsung has launched very attractive smartphones under its A-series and M series in the last few months and the user has also liked Samsung Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M30 ahead of Chinese brands like Redmi and Realme. During the movement involving Chinese companies, the company has launched Galaxy M31s at the end of July.
For the first time in the hands of Samsung’s latest smartphone introduced with a 64MP quad-camera setup and 6,000mAh battery, we have experienced what we tell you as a first impression, so let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy M31s On review:

Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Box content
The Galaxy M31s does not have a protective TPU cover in the box, which is mostly seen in phones priced below Rs 20,000. So in the box, you get:
- Galaxy M31s handset
- 25W Fast Charger
- USB Type C to Type C Charging Cable
- Instruction manual
- Warranty card
- Sim ejector tool
With the help of the cable provided with the phone, you can charge other Type C phones or Type C earphones through the reverse charging feature on the phone.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Design and Build
As soon as the Galaxy M31s is taken out of the box, it is first seen on its design. We have a Mirage Black color option device that looks more attractive to look at. The company has used plastic with plastic-like glass. If you compare it with the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M30 launched before this, then this design looks better.
Samsung has given a fingerprint sensor here with the power button. So in early use, this sensor looks very fast and accurate. The fingerprint on the side means that you see only the camera setup and Samsung’s branding on the backside.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: The thickness of the phone is 9.3mm which is slightly higher but it seems to be right for a battery with a large capacity of 6,000mAh. If the weight of the phone is not much, then it can not be said less. The Galaxy M31 weighs more than 200 grams but does not feel too heavy when taken.
A SIM tray with a dedicated card slot is given in the left side of the phone. The 3.5mm audio jack is also provided along with the USB Type C port at the bottom.
Looking from the front, you can see the phone with the latest display design, which has a very thin bezel around. The selfie camera is also given in the punch hole cutout given on the top.

Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Display
Talking about the display, the Galaxy M31s looks better than other phones of this price. At this price, Samsung has used AMOLED display which you do not see in other options.
The Galaxy M31s features a 6.5-inch FHD + resolution display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 20: 9 aspect ratio. At this price, Realme 6 Pro and Poco M2 Pro provide 90Hz refresh support, but the screen of M31s is quite vibrant and power efficient. The protection of Gorilla Gals 3 is also given on the display.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Camera
Samsung has upgraded from the Galax M31 here, instead of using the Sony IMX682 sensor instead of the 64MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor. The quad-camera setup has a 5MP macro lens, 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 5MP depth sensor.
On the front side, you get a 32MP selfie camera that supports 4K video recording and slow-mo video. Samsung has provided 4K video recording support here. With this, you can switch the camera while recording video.
Samsung has also included its flagship camera feature Single Take in M31s, which was earlier seen in the Galaxy S20. In single take mode, once you click the shutter button, it simultaneously captures multiple photos and videos with different settings and filters.
The Galaxy S20 had a lot of fun using the single tech feature, so it remains to be seen if the M31s enjoy this feature as much. For now, we will be able to say something only after doing some more tests for the device’s virtual version.
The camera performance of the device looks good in the initial use. And the rest of the full camera review will be updated soon. Now, let’s talk about the software and performance of the device.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Hardware and Software
Samsung has once again used the Exynos 9611 chipset found in all the recently launched M series phones in Galaxy M31s, Galaxy M30s, Galaxy M31, Galaxy M21, etc.
It is an octa-core chipset that Samsung has introduced with the Mali G72 GPU with 4x ARM Cortex A73 Performance Core and 4x ARM Cortex A53 Efficient Core. In the device with the chipset, you have 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage options.
If you look at the price, you can also find here phones with Snapdragon 720 and SD730G which is slightly wireless in performance with Exynos 9611. But the company has used the same, believing in its own Exynos chipset.
Samsung’s custom skin OneUI looks superior to all other user interfaces to a great extent. In Galaxy M31s you get OneUI 2.3 Skin with Android 10. This user interface is very user friendly. There are some pre-installed applications here, but you can delete them. Samsung has also given DRM L1 certification here, due to which you can easily enjoy HD streaming.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Battery
Like its previous partner Galaxy M31, there is a big 6,000mAh battery here. Apart from this, for the first time, Samsung has also included a 25W fast charger in the box, which is capable of charging even such a large battery in just 97 minutes.
The first impression of Samsung Galaxy M31s
If we compare it with Galaxy M31, then you also get a better camera, good design, and 25W fast charging support in the newly launched Galaxy M31s. The chipset may be the same but more RAM and storage reflect its increased price.
Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: Although the upgrade has given cannot be said to be much better, but looking at the time, the device proves to be a good option with this installment. With the initial use of the device, the phone can be called good but will it give a tough competition to Poco M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro? To know this, we will soon present the review with detailed updates, so stay with us !!!
