The 5G era has already begun. That being said, it does not mean that you can completely abandon 4G-at least not currently. There is still a long way to go to completely abandon 4G.
Qualcomm recently announced the launch of three new processors for 4G smartphones, namely S720G, S662 and S460.
Among these three processors, the strongest performance is the S720G octa-core processor. When you see a “G” on the processor model, it means that it will be a processor suitable for gaming (Gaming), using an 8nm process. The processor frequency is up to 2.3GHz and supports Snapdragon X15 LTE, which can achieve download speeds of up to 800Mbps. In addition, the S710G is equipped with a 5th generation Qualcomm artificial intelligence engine, which can provide a new AI experience for games, photography and more.
As for the S662, it belongs to a mid-range processor, which is also an eight-core processor with a main frequency of 2.0GHz. With the Snapdragon X11 LTE, the maximum download speed is 390Mbps. In the photography section, the S662 will support a three-lens configuration and support HEIF format photography. In addition, S662 supports the 3rd generation Qualcomm artificial intelligence engine, which can provide new AI shooting and voice assist functions.
Finally, the entry-level S460, which has the same Snapdragon X11 LTE and AI engine as the S662, and Qualcomm said that because the S460 improves the GPU architecture, it will be 50% faster than the previous generation S450 in terms of image processing.
When will these three processors come out? Qualcomm said that the S720G mobile phone is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2020, and mobile phones using S662 and S460 are expected to enter the market by the end of 2020.
