The release of Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 also didn’t seem to help much. The holiday quarter proved to be the company’s worst quarter since the third quarter of 2017, with only 2.8 million units shipped, a 41% year-on-year decrease.
Fortunately, smartphones are not the only products sold by HMD. The company has a strong feature phone business, with shipments reaching 53.49 million units in 2019. It is down 17% compared to 2018 but has experienced steady quarterly growth since the second quarter of 2019, and this trend is expected to continue into this year.
