The New Zealand cricket team has taken a 1–0 lead with the first match of the three-day ODI series against India. The Indian team worked hard and gave a big score of 348 runs in front of the New Zealand team, yet faced defeat. While the Indian bowlers failed to take wickets, Bolling could not do much in the performance. The second ODI will be played in Auckland on Saturday.
With the help of New Zealand veteran Ross Taylor’s 21st century, the hosts chased their biggest target in ODIs on Wednesday and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. New Zealand batsman Henry Nickels said on Thursday The team did not bear the burden of the T20 unit which suffered 0–5 defeat to India.
Let us tell that Taylor scored an unbeaten 109, while Tom Latham scored 69 runs in 48 balls. Their partnership troubled India’s bowlers. Henry Nickels said that while playing against India, we chased two goals for more than 300 runs and came close in others. It was a great feeling to do this again at home ground.
Nickels said in Auckland, it was fantastic, we chased our biggest goal in ODI cricket and good, we were able to contribute. He said we did not feel like this. So I was not feeling any pressure and there is no need to prove anything. It was a small field and the goal was big so it was good that we were able to do it.
