One person has died from the Corona virus in Pakistan. The Secretary of Health of Gilgit-Baltistan has confirmed this. Earlier, a channel had broadcast the news of the death of a man in Lahore, but was later denied.
The 90-year-old man from Diyar district was infected with the Corona virus, Dawn quoted English newspaper Dawn as saying. He was being treated but died on Wednesday.
So far 289 cases of Corona virus have been confirmed in Pakistan. Sindh has received 208 cases, 28 in Punjab, 19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 16 in Balochistan, 16 in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and two in Islamabad.
One of the major causes of the spread of the Corona virus in Pakistan is being attributed to visitors from Iran. A large number of them were stationed at Quarantina on the Tufan border. Experts say that because of poor management, more people were infected instead of preventing the virus.
Many pilgrims who moved from Tufan to Sukkur were found to be infected with the virus when re-tested. On Wednesday, 8 more people in Sukkur got positive for the Karuna virus test.
