KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has released a sum of Rs 58 crore for distributing rations in the face of lockdown in the province.
According to We News, he said that the money is meant to give ration to the poor people and those who earn daily wages.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that two crores of rupees would be given in each district to distribute rations among those working on daily wages.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Sindh, Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi transferred the funds.
On the other hand, provincial minister for agriculture Imtiaz Shaikh has said that the assistance of the deserving people has been decided by the distribution of rations.
He said that it has decided to distribute rations at the union council and union committee level.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that a sum of Rs 2 crore has been released to the Deputy Commissioner of each district. In the first phase, the deputy commissioners will distribute rations to deserving families.
He further said that a committee would be formed at the level of each union council to identify eligible families.
