President Trump said that since Britain is no longer part of Europe, sanctions will not apply to it.
However, on Saturday, Vice President of the United States Mike Pence announced that he was imposing travel restrictions on Britain and Ireland as well.
The White House statement said that the US President also spoke to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the sanctions and was made aware.
The total number of deaths from the Corona virus has risen to more than 5800, while more than 535,000 people have died from the deadly pandemic.
