China releases first batch of 14 5G standards that are fully in line with global 5G standards

The 5G Standard Issuing and Industry Promotion Conference” was held in Beijing on the 9th. The meeting held the first batch of 14 5G standards release ceremonies in China. These 5G standards cover core networks, wireless access networks, bearer networks, antennas, terminals, security, electromagnetic compatibility and other fields, and will provide better technical support for 5G commercials.

The conference was hosted by China Communications Standards Association. China Communications Standards Association is one of the founders and managers of 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project). 3GPP was established in 1998 and is mainly responsible for the formulation of 5G global standards.

Wu Guohua, chairman of the China Communications Standards Association, said that China has made important contributions to the development of key standards such as wireless flexible system design, polar codes, new network architectures, and large-scale antennas. Among the global 5G standard essential patents, Chinese companies claim that the number of patents accounts for 34%, ranking first in the world.

The 14 Chinese 5G standards released by China this time are fully in line with global 5G standards, which reflects the openness and transparency of China’s 5G standards.

Wang Zhijun, deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, said that 5G global standards are constantly evolving and development, and accelerating the construction of a global mutual trust 5G technology standard system is a common goal of the global industry. Last June, 3GPP released the latest timetable for the 5G global standard. It is planned to determine the 5G second-phase standard in March 2020, and it is expected to form the 5G third-phase standard in June 2021.

Regarding the continuous improvement of the industrial ecology and acceleration of the 5G commercial process, Tong Guohua put forward four suggestions: First, actively cultivate the 5G industrial ecology and accelerate the digital transformation of the economy; second, steadily promote the construction of 5G networks and deepen the application of 5G vertical industries; The business model creates 5G profit points; the fourth is to cope with network security and build a secure 5G network environment.
