According to foreign media reports, Amazon.com, an American e-commerce company, said on Monday that the company had suspended the accounts of thousands of sellers due to price frauds on the platform during the spread of the new coronavirus.

Amazon states that it has removed more than 500,000 products and suspended more than 3,900 U.S. seller accounts because these accounts violate the platform’s fair pricing policy.

Amazon says it has deployed a dedicated team to identify and investigate “unfair pricing” on high-demand products such as protective masks and hand sanitizers.

The company said in a statement on Monday: “We are also proactively working with the state attorney general and federal regulators to share seller information about the amazing price fraud that we suspect involves new coronavirus-related products.”
